  • Description: The International Bibliography of the Social Sciences is a leading online research tool for the Social Sciences and related interdisciplinary subjects. It is a detailed index of over 2 million journal articles, book reviews and selected chapters published since 1951 and it is updated weekly. You can search for publication details by author, title, keyword, or subject heading. IBSS covers a wide range of international data from over 100 countries. Abstracts are available for over 75% of current journal articles. As around 70% of the current journals covered by IBSS are taken from LSE Library holdings, you should find links to full text are available for a high proportion of records found on IBSS. When you do a search on IBSS you can click on the LSE Article Finder icon displayed on the right of each search result. This will take you to a screen which shows whether the full text is available to you. If the Library subscribes to the journal in electronic form, you should see the words Full text is available through the links below followed by a link, sometimes a choice of links, to the full text of the article online. Alternatively, If the full text is not available online, you could search the Library catalogue to see if we have a paper copy
